My Story
From an early age, I often felt like I was standing on the sidelines—trying to figure out how everyone else made life look so effortless. Whether it was school, friendships, or activities, I felt like I was always one step behind. Over time, it became easier to stay in the background than risk feeling like I didn’t measure up.
The one place I felt at ease growing up was in drama class, where I could step into someone else’s shoes. That’s a sad realization for me now, knowing that ease was simply because I didn’t have to be me for a moment. It was a much-needed break from the pressure to be “good enough,” and it provided the opportunity to be expressive and BIG—something I didn’t feel safe to do as “Alecia.” I spent so many years adapting to whatever environment or friend group I was in—trying to fit in, be more outgoing, more likeable, more fun. Looking back, I know how common that is—the way we shape ourselves to be included in the group, even if it means leaving parts of us behind.
After university, I reached a point where I knew I couldn’t keep living in a way that felt disconnected from who I really was. I began a journey of self-reflection—travelling, working across different industries, and questioning the stories I’d internalized. Along the way, I discovered something deeply important: there’s no universal “right” way to be. Our well-being comes from living in alignment with what genuinely matters to us—not to anyone else.
That realization brought a kind of peace I hadn’t felt before. The discomfort I carried for so long began to ease when I realized I’d just been measuring myself against values and expectations that didn’t actually fit me. That clarity allowed me to meet myself with more compassion—and it sparked a deep desire to help others do the same.
When the pandemic hit, like many people, I lost my jobs (yes, I had three at the time—welcome to living in Vancouver!). But that pause offered me a chance to reflect on what truly mattered. It became clear that my heart was in supporting others in a deeper way—helping people reconnect with themselves in a real and lasting way. That’s when I shifted from a decade-long career in hospitality, events, and catering to becoming a counsellor.
Today, I offer a safe space where you can explore who you are—without pressure, without judgment. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, self-doubt, perfectionism, or just feeling out of alignment with your life, I’m here to support you in peeling back the layers, reconnecting with your inner wisdom, and finding a sense of clarity forward.
It would be an honour to walk alongside you on your journey. Let’s work together to build a life that feels truly yours.
