Booking a Counselling Session
The Counselling Process
Step 1: FREE Consultation - 20 Min
The main goal of a counselling consultation is to assess compatibility and provide an overview of the counselling process. In order for counselling to be successful, it is imperative that the relationship between counsellor and client is trusting and collaborative. A consult provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the counselling process, my credentials, and the frameworks I work from. As well, it provides you as the client an opportunity to assess whether my skills and expertise align with your needs.
Step 2: Intake Session - 90 Min $150
The intake session is a crucial step in the counselling process as it sets the foundation for the therapeutic relationship. In this session, we will review the consent form and intake form with the goal of achieving a deeper understanding of what brought you to counselling, your background, and the goals you have for our time together, so we can collaboratively come up with an effective treatment plan.
Step 3: Regular Sessions - 50 Min $125
The content and process of each regular session will vary depending on concerns present. In each session, we will review any homework from the previous session, identify progress toward goals, and incorporate appropriate therapeutic techniques specific to your unique counselling needs. You can see more about my approach on the Services tab.
You’re under no obligation to be the same person you were five minutes ago.
